“Way to Go Week Walk”

The Burlington Walking Work Group
is sponsoring its third community walk!

From the Green to the Pristine

Join us

Thursday, May 8th, 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Meet at the UVM Davis Center Green,

main entrance (turnaround - the east side!) at 5:00 pm.

End at the Pristine lakeshore Boathouse.

Enjoy sunset refreshments at the Boathouse.

All are welcome to come and learn about bike and pedestrian efficiencies at UVM.  Then walk down historic Main Street,

self-guided by a special Preservation Burlington brochure to the Boathouse for refreshments.

At the Boathouse we will discuss the improvements planned around the city for pedestriants and initiatives on how to make our community vibrant and our city more walkable and livable.

Sponsored by Burlington Walking Work Group, RSG Inc., UVM, Preservation Burlington, City Market and AARP.

Be a Sidewalker!

Join the Department of Public Works, AARP, your neighbors, friends, and family on a 3.5 mile walk at any time during the last 2 weeks of May! With every sidewalker enjoying a leisurely 3.5 mile walk all at once or over several days, we can inventory 120 miles of City sidewalks that have never been assessed before. We'll give all of our sidewalkers a route to walk, and an assessment worksheet to help us identify the condition of the sidewalks on your route.
Interested in joining us? Sign up by contacting Nicole Losch at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or 865-5833. Then, come to our one-hour sidewalker training on either May 12 or 13 at 5:30 pm at DPW. For more information on this project, visit http://www.dpw.ci.burlington.vt.us.
